Landscape Rosewood Journal
This Jack Spade journal is perfect for filling with sketches of cabins and nature. It's even scented to smell like wood!

Method Homes
I have been obsessed with owning my own someday which leads to accidental research. Method Homes is based in Seattle and they do some cool eco-friendly and affordable homes...

This October at LACMA don't miss California Design, 1930-1965 "Living in a Modern Way." (October 1, 2011 - March 25, 2012 in the Resnick Pavilion.) We know a thing or two about style on this coast.

Love, Adorned
My mind has just been blown by this store & blog. Why didn't I know about it on my last trip to NYC?! ...Next time for sure.
"Love Adorned – a lifestyle concept store from New York Adorned’s Lori Leven – expands beyond fine jewelry to include smart tools for home, body and travel. The shop’s lovingly curated inventory addresses the shift away from ‘throw away culture’ with lasting solutions that bring ease and preserve beauty in our busy lives. For where strength exists in design and simplicity, it also is expressed through craftsmanship and quality; all key elements in the shop’s offerings.
Love Adorned often looks to its well traveled and visionary friends to learn about their time tested, sometimes obscure acquisitions or remedies that they love. Every new discovery feels like a piece to the puzzle, whether it makes the body cleaner or the mind clearer. Building on seasonal themes, the store opened December 2010 with an initial exploration of things cherished and celebrated, collected both from years of searching and growing fascinations. Treasured objects are the things that remind us of the path we carve though the world, and of milestones in our lives. Love Adorned hopes to be a place that brings all things beautiful and inspiring, informative and innovative, to light."

Soo Kei
I am so excited about a new label out of New York, called Soo Kei. It's by an extremely talented and skilled, up and coming designer, named Soo Kang. She's one of those people who must have been born cool. The line is like a blend of James Perse and All Saints with a definite influence from Alexander Wang and Helmut Lang. I love it.

T by Alexander Wang & moto boots
It's been a few years since I've had to go "Back to School," but I still have a hard time embracing Fall. Unfortunately my black pearl anklet from the Maui trip broke off last night, making it very clear to me that Summer is over... and it's also time to update my portfolio again! At least there will be cabin sweaters and Lupicia teas.
So far I've gotten a nice warm and cozy feeling from T by Alexander Wang, Fall 2011:
...I also love love love the moto boots trend. I like these relatively affordable ones from Madewell. (Too bad they've been a customer service nightmare or I'd own them!):
Fall comfort tea: Lupicia's "Orzo Caramel & Honey" mmmmm

Summatime
Love these anklets I spotted on a young girl at Cheeky's in Palm Springs. It's been a few years since I spent the summer making friendship bracelets, but I think I need to stop by a craft store soon! (The food is amazing, BTW.)

Michael Weems
On my last trip to Palm Springs I was sucked into a store/gallery by a window display which included gold rings like the one pictured here. The molten gold is so on-trend, yet these are also actual art pieces by Michael Weems. There are no mould seams here. Each item is unique. I had the pleasure of meeting the artist himself and he is overwhelmingly charming, real, and sweet. The man is busy, so the best way to see/purchase his work is to visit one of his locations in person. I look forward to the day I can decorate my home with the Michael Weems Pompeii collection.

The #1 Best Distraction
The #1 best distraction I have found since dedicating my time to this portfolio. Try it. It's terribly awesome:

Brunello Cucinelli
I struggled to narrow down my favorites by this Italian designer. They're such wearable, effortless basics with a gorgeous twist. You can feel the luxury of these garments in your hands; so much, it's surprising.

Made in California
I love bennykelly! These scarves are extremely comfy, and the fact that they're made in California gives them a cool factor you can't get in other places. I'm addicted to this cozy cabin essential! They're so affordable you can buy them in multiples. I wear them all the time and you can too...

AllSaints Spitalfields
I am so refreshed and inspired by UK-based AllSaints right now. It's wearable art and when I say wearable, I mean it! The pieces feel rare, special, innovative, yet they're easy to work into a regular wardrobe. They're also relatively affordable for the level of design. You won't find these looks at the hot knock-off stores in a few months. Take care of your buys and they will freshen up your wardrobe far into the future. I believe the majority of AllSaints pieces will be relevant for years to come.

Rodarte Redwoods
Spring fashion is so exciting! Ask me my favorite designer and I'll probably answer with something like: Every designer's Spring collection is my favorite! It makes sense since I'm from California, where the weather is generally pleasant always. And, since I would like to think of this as a lifestyle blog rather than a fashion blog, I give to you... Rodarte Spring 11!!! (Even though they're about to show Fall)
When I heard the Mulleavy sisters had taken their Spring '11 inspiration from Northern California and the redwoods my cabin was surrounded by, a little seed must have been planted in me. It's been months since, and I can feel myself becoming increasingly enthusiastic about these ladies I was already a fan of because they are from California!
This Spring I will keep the Rodarte aesthetic in mind when I am updating my wardrobe.

Modern Handcraft
These wooden necklaces are carved to fit the contours of your neck/shoulders. They're BEAUTIFUL, as is the presentation. If I could afford it, I would rock the piece below:
