Mancini Madness

I'm not sure that it's normal for someone my age to be so obsessed with Henry Mancini... but I am. I have a few of his albums out of my dad's collection in addition to some of my own and I went to his 2010 fireworks extravaganza tribute at the Hollywood Bowl. His music makes me want to dress up and have a cocktail party in Palm Springs...

Natalie Portman

The 2011 Oscars, although bland, were big for me because, in addition to my love for Colin Firth, I also think Natalie Portman is potentially the cutest/most beautiful woman, pregnant or not, and certainly in this lovely Rodarte gown:

Colin Firth

You know you love him.

Also, here's a link to one that doesn't offer an embed code, but really has to be shared: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IS8UffaEf60

Zumba!

If you're late to the Zumba party, like me (or if you've done it before!), a great place to try it is Your Neighborhood Studio. I tried it for the first time today and I feel really good. Wil-son Williams is such a great instructor, bursting with fun and energy! He's really nice too. The kind of guy you wish you were friends with.

I can't wait to check out more classes from this place.

Made in California

I love bennykelly! These scarves are extremely comfy, and the fact that they're made in California gives them a cool factor you can't get in other places. I'm addicted to this cozy cabin essential! They're so affordable you can buy them in multiples. I wear them all the time and you can too...

Rodarte: States of Matter at MOCA

AllSaints Spitalfields

I am so refreshed and inspired by UK-based AllSaints right now. It's wearable art and when I say wearable, I mean it! The pieces feel rare, special, innovative, yet they're easy to work into a regular wardrobe. They're also relatively affordable for the level of design. You won't find these looks at the hot knock-off stores in a few months. Take care of your buys and they will freshen up your wardrobe far into the future. I believe the majority of AllSaints pieces will be relevant for years to come.

Bollywood!

Indian Art, Indian Food... It's all so much fun! ...So last night my friends and I took a Bollywood dance class at Your Neighborhood Studio in Culver City. I lack rhythm and coordination, and I still had a blast! By the end we had a room full of Bollywood dancers performing a routine to some great music. I highly recommend Your Neighborhood Studio!

I left my heart in Nor Cal

I just love Northern California. I miss my years as an undergrad at UCSC all the time. Last weekend I went to Santa Francisco to visit a friend (who also went to UCSC -- Peace Love and Porter!). He took me all over the city to breathtaking views, amazing food, etc. I think the highlight may have been The Botanical Garden in Golden Gate Park. Lush foliage and tall redwoods smell better than anything else to me. The magnolias are currently blooming and they certainly live up to the hype!

Later, we climbed a string of hills and stairs to end up here:
